Since 2018 I have been a full-time professor in New York University's Integrated Design & Media program (IDM). From 2018-2025 I was the director of academics for BS and MS students, currently I am the academic director of the Masters program. Previously I was visiting faculty at NYU Shanghai, the founder and director of the Interactive Media program in NYU Abu Dhabi, and a 'post-doc' in NYU's ITP where I was also an adjunct faculty member.
I was the "Head of Documentation" for the Arduino platform from 2009-2013, was the technical editor on a number of books on the topic, and the designer and primary author of the official Arduino Starter Kit .
Though based in New York City, I have also held research and visiting academic positions with Locus Sonus in Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, and Nice and Culture Lab in Newcastle.
I have also taught at BMCC, run workshops on electronics and code for art and creative expression for a variety of audiences, run programming and code after-school programs for high school students in the South Bronx, and collaborated on a series of workshops teaching HTML, CSS, and javascript to low and no-vision learners at the New York Pu\blic Library and in Gulu, Uganda.
Recently I've been working with NYU's Institute of Fine Art running workshops for conservators who are interested in electronics and I've been collaborating with the Onassis Foundation/ONX Studio and the Athens University of Economics and Business on a series of professional development programs.
